Small Changes Go A Long Way—

Heading into the final months of the 2017 season, we see that the small changes we made this summer have improved our skating experience. The traffic delineators we started using on the 4th of July have proven to be a versatile lighter weight alternative to the old steel barricades that we used exclusively in the past.

The advantage of the plastic posts is their light weight and the ease of setting them up and putting them away. Testing the new black posts alongside the metal barricades, we found that solid metal is a better barrier than ropes strung through rings on top of 42 inch high plastic tubes; even when signs are hung from them in an effort to discourage people from stepping over or ducking under the ropes and walking through the skating area right in front of skaters.
