It may sound strange to those of you who have always thought of the Central Park Conservancy as an adversary or antagonist of the CPDSA, but the truth is that we have always had some good friends there. Our friendship—like all the good ones—is based on trust and mutual respect.
This month marks the retirement of one of the best friends the CPDSA ever had in the Conservancy: Neil Calvanese. He was there at the very first meetings between our group and the city—before we were the CPDSA. Smart, tough and fair, Neil could see both sides of a situation and look for a solution, not a battle.
